Hand in Hand with Ukraine set out to provide live teaching for healthcare professionals in Ukraine who are managing major hand trauma without having any of the specialist training. This began in April 2022 shortly after war broke out and the discovery that there was not one single hand therapist in the country.  Following 40 live webinars and a course delivered in partnership with AHTF and WHO in Kyiv in May 2024, it has become evident that hand rehabilitation is a major emphasis for the Ukrainian Department of Health and the healthcare professionals trying to deliver it.  We now have over 400 Ukrainian healthcare professionals who have registered on this website to source lectures, patient information sheets, protocols and key literature.  It has become their hand therapy library.

We are employing translators in Ukraine to translate documents for easier use.  All healthcare professionals leading, teaching on and supporting this initiative are doing so without payment.
